We interrupt this program for a news update

This is off topic, but I thought I would let everyone know that I have written our MP to change some laws around these parts.

Protecting the criminal is what we as Canadians seem to do quite well. As of Dec 15/04 a law has been passed that sex offenders once out of jail must register where they live with in 15 days, and also every year after. This is wonderful, except one thing... its not public information and they are protected under the privacy act. I don't agree with this. They are criminals and chances of re-offending are extremely high. We have a right to a picture, and at least the area they are in, if not their address. Our children should have a chance, and if they can recognize offenders and if parents know where they are living, we will all be a lot more safe. Protect the upstanding citizens and forget about protecting sex offenders.

I will keep everyone updated about how this goes. I am determined to help change this.
